INCUBATOR WITHOUT WALLS - Blended Class
( 6pm )
10/23/13 MaineStream Finance is offering the Incubator Without Walls (IWW) course which helps individuals start or expand of businesses with five or fewer employees. The course stresses that good management, effective marketing and financial controls lead to increased profits, and that business planning leads to business growth, profits and personal satisfaction. The Incubator Without Walls (IWW) course will offer the majority of its classes online, however the first class will be held in a classroom setting on October 23, at 6:00 pm at Penquis, 262 Harlow St., Bangor. The initial class will provide an opportunity to meet the instructor and others taking the course, and provide the schedule and needed information to participate in the online classes. By offering the majority of the classes online, it will save travel time and expense for participants, hopefully allowing greater participation of those for whom time and travel may be a barrier to participation, said James Macomber, Microenterprise Consultant, MaineStream Finance. The class will cover such subjects as: Credit, the Business Plan, Business Concepts, Legal Structures of Business, and Marketing, including the use of social media, Record Keeping, Financials & Cash Flow, and Financing Resources. Classes are frequently augmented with guest speakers from the local business community which allows participants to network with local bankers, accountants, insurance agents, website & media designers, and an array of other experts. In addition, participants can receive one-on-one business counseling and the use of Google Apps. This course is free, but we ask that you pre-register. This training is supported by funding from the Small Business Administration, USDA Rural Development, Penquis, MaineStream Finance and community members. To register go to MaineStreamFinance.org; From the up menu select Form ; then select Classes and Workshops and then complete the online form.
