Denise was chosen from a field of many candidates.  Chamber president Sherry French believes Buzzelli was the perfect choice:
"Denise brings a lot of sales and management experience to the position.  She spent the last twelve months with Camden National Bank and became very acquainted with members of the community during her time there."
Prior to Camden National, Denise managed the Elementary School and worked in other departments at Bangor Christian School for several years and worked as Public Relations Assistant at FST in Charleston.

Denise is originally from New Jersey, where she lived until 2006 when she moved to Maine with her family so that she and her husband Gregg could continue their education. While in NJ, she worked in the mortgage industry as a loan officer for over ten years. The Buzzellis have two daughters, Angelina (15) and Roseann (13).

Denise and Gregg hold a Bachelor's Degree in Theo-Centric Psychology through Telios University and are working towards their Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. They hope to take their studies to the Doctorate level. Denise would love to own her own Bed & Breakfast for struggling marriages somewhere on the coast, which she and her husband would run together. "We both come from broken homes, and we have seen the devastation that it causes. We just have a heart and a real burden for families who are on the verge of a break or who are already broken. We want to make a difference."

When Denise was chosen to take over the Director's position, she understood the responsibility of the task, but also the incredible opportunity to bring about positive change in another way:

"I am very excited to be given the opportunity to make a difference in this county”, states Denise, “This is a wonderful part of the nation, beautiful landscapes, outdoor activities – a tourist’s heaven, and businesses throughout that are so unique and wonderful, like gems hidden in the forest. I want to put them on the map. Bangor and Portland should know what we offer here; I want to promote Piscataquis County through social media, internet, print (and television if possible), and link our hard-working business owners with the resources they need to be all they can be. I want to look at the communities more closely and find ways to make them healthier.  I believe when we are community minded, and work together through member to member support, we will see this county thrive like never before, so that people will want to shop here, work here, live here, and retire here.”
The Chamber Board of Directors welcomes Denise to her new position!
